Behaviour Services
Behavioural Assessments - Using standardized testing tools, an individual client profile is developed. The assessment process sets a baseline of performance, learning style and personality dynamics. Knowing individual student strengths and area(s) of weakness ensures increased individual success. Assessments are conducted to ensure the development of a comprehensive treatment plan. Students are re-assessed regularly to ensure progress and achievement. Results of all testing are reported to parents verbally and in writing.
Behaviour Modification – Providing services to target the functions of
- Aggression
- Compliance
- Self-injurious behaviour
- Self-stimulatory behaviour
- Other areas as required
Social Skills Training – Targeting various skills in relation to peer, sibling and adult interaction
Toileting – Skills and compliance training for daytime and night time
Bedtime Routines – Compliance training for bedtime and throughout sleep time
Appropriate Eating Habits – Addressing issues such as food sensitivity, food refusal, independence in feeding and cooperation during mealtime
Safety – Awareness and related skills in school, home and community
Self-Help Skills – Targeting independence skills such as bathing, dressing, grooming, chores, etc.
Integration Planning & Support – Planning, pre-training and support for integration within an exclusive setting such as daycare, school, etc.
Behaviour Consulting – eXL offers consultation to individual ABA/IBI programs delivered in homes, schools and through community-based organizations.
NOTE - When required, eXL Behaviour Therapists may access in-house Speech & Language Pathologists and Education Specialists.
ABA/IBI Therapy
Applied Behaviour Analysis/Intensive Behaviour Intervention
ABA/IBI is a treatment method that has been clinically proven to help children learn. Skills are broken down into their simplest components and taught in a step-by-step progression. eXL Professional Behaviour Therapists:
eXL’s programs are administered by members of our well-trained and experienced ABA therapy team. eXL Behaviour Therapists have excellent educational credentials and are trained to work with the individual child, the family and others involved in the care and development of the child. All of our therapists have undergone police and employment screenings and intensive theoretical and practical training.
eXL Behaviour Therapists work with in-house Speech & Language Pathologists and Education Specialists. In addition, eXL will also work with out-of-centre allied professionals involved in the care and development of the child to provide continuity of care and overall program success.
Fee Structure: ABA/IBI Therapy is a contracted service. Fees will depend on the type and frequency of services. An individual therapy plan, including fees, will be provided to each family during the entry and assessment process. For general information regarding fees, please contact the eXL office.
