Parent Coaching at EXL is designed to empower YOU with the tools to help your child thrive - at home and beyond. Parenting a child with neurodevelopmental needs can feel overwhelming. You may be facing daily challenges with communication, routines, or behaviour, and wondering if you're doing the right things. You want to help, but you need tools that actually work, and guidance on how to use them. You're not alone - and you don't have to figure it out by yourself.

Our Parent Coaching program was developed to give you practical, personalized strategies to support your child at home and in the community. You’ll work 1:1 with one of our experienced behaviour therapists who will guide you step-by-step in implementing evidence-based strategies that align with your family’s goals.

Goals for Parent Coaching may include:

Helping your child get dressed independently
Using more words to communicate needs
Reducing meltdowns or challenging behaviours
Learning how to play independently
Connecting with peers socially

How it Works

1-on-1 Coaching
You will meet weekly for 1 hour with a Lead or Senior Therapist.

Personalized Goals
We’ll help you identify what matters most to your family, and build a step-by-step plan using assessment results and proven interventions.

Hands-On Training
We use Behaviour Skills Training to teach you exactly how to implement strategies at home through modeling, practice, and feedback.

Real Results
Your therapist will track progress with you, review data, and fine-tune strategies to ensure you’re seeing meaningful changes.

Your Involvement

This is a team effort. For best results, we ask that parents commit to active participation in all sessions, consistently using the strategies between sessions, and collecting simple data to track your child’s progress.

Registration Process

Parent Coaching is delivered over a period of 12 weeks, with one session per week (each session is approximately one hour).

The fee for the full 12 week program is $2,400.00.

Getting started with Parent Coaching is simple.

The first step in our intake process is a one-on-one phone consultation with our Executive Director. During this 30 minute call, we'll discuss your child's background and your specific goals for service. This helps us understand your needs and ensures we tailor our approach to best support your child.
